Teen's sex charges go to juvenile court ANNAPOLIS -- A 17-year-old boy charged with trying to rape a woman at knifepoint as she showered will be tried as a juvenile, a judge ruled yesterday. Edwin Avelino Diaz-Cruz was arrested Feb. 5 and charged with attempted first-degree rape. City police said he got into the shower with the 27-year-old woman about 3:45 p.m. that day in the Admiral Farragut apartments off Hilltop Lane and tried to force her to have sex.
