At least 47 Maryland City residents voluntarily evacuated their homes last night, as a third day of heavy rains turned city streets into rivers and backyards into lakes. But despite dire forecasts of 2- to 4-foot tidal surges and flash floods along the Patuxent River- forecasts that prompted the activation of two Emergency Operations Centers in the county - no major problems arose last night. "We're looking good this morning," said Pam Jordan, a county spokesman, from the county EOC in Millersville. "Even though the sun is out, there are some flooding concerns ...
