Laurel Park doubles attendance with first day of twilight racing

By post time of the third race at Laurel Park yesterday, the sun had moved behind the clubhouse, casting a shadow over the open patio facing the track. While the enclosed clubhouse was nearly empty, the outdoor seating was packed.

Pat Kemp was a convert. The Montgomery County resident said he typically doesn't go to the races, but the track's first experiment with twilight races lured him to come right from work.

"With this time, it's easy, and I don't know a thing about racing either," he said. "I think its a nice break, especially on a beautiful day."
