Council delays vote on sewer service to Dreams LandingPublished 08/22/06
A riverside community that's endured a decade of wastewater problems will have to wait at least another two weeks to find out whether it will be considered for public sewage after the County Council put off a vote last night. The delay came after Councilman Barbara D. Samorajczyk, D-Annapolis Roads, said she was concerned that extending public sewer service to Dreams Landing would open the door to more development. A collection of 56 homes just north of the Route 50 Severn River bridge, Dreams Landing relies on a private sewage treatment plant. The plant has had problems since at least the mid-1990s.
