New drunk driving law goes into effectPublished 09/28/06
Stiffer penalties for underage drunken drivers go into effect this weekend. Starting Sunday, anyone under age 21 convicted of drunken or drugged driving will lose their license for one year. Their license will be taken away for two years for subsequent offenses. "It hits teenage drivers where it impacts them the most - the loss of a driver's license," said Kurt Gregory Erickson, president and CEO of the Washington Regional Alcohol Program.
