Astle and McMillan spar over past votes

A race between two military pilots is bound to feature some turbulence, and an early encounter between Sen. John C. Astle and Del. Herb McMillan proved to be a dogfight.

The two men met at a candidates forum in Cape St. Claire Friday night, in a debate that turned into a review of their records going back several decades.

"The question you need to be asking is, 'Who's been voting the way you would vote?' " Mr. McMillan asked an audience of more than 100 people at the Cape St. Claire Improvement Association clubhouse.
