The Arnold school recently launched a nursing program to allow students to continue working toward a bachelor's degree and starting in January, it will begin a year-long certificate program for licensed practical nurses.
Beth A. Batturs, director of nursing at the college, said the competition for the college's registered nurse program is high. She said the new program gives students with lower grade-point averages, who still would be good nursing candidates, a chance to get into the field.
