Two thumbs up

Since graduating from college in August, Matt "Fiddy" Fidler and Scott MacDonald have stopped sitting on their thumbs and put the digits to a different use - hitchhiking.

Yesterday the two of them, both from Vancouver, Canada, passed through Annapolis - their eleventh destination in their quest to visit all 50 state capitals in 50 days.

"We just want to have fun, really," Mr. MacDonald said. "We want to meet people and travel. It's almost a social networking project."

Mr. Filder's approach differs somewhat.

"We're in the business of blowing people's minds," he said.
