City's giveaway of parking spaces sparks protestPublished 10/19/06
Since two companies moved to a new loading zone near the Market House just three weeks ago, at least one has blossomed - but a city parking panel wants to make sure they're playing fair. Earlier this month, City Administrator Bob Agee gave two parking spaces on the corner of Market Space and Main Street to a pair of downtown tour companies - Annapolis Carriage and Discover Annapolis Tours. They're using the spaces rent-free. Since the move, Annapolis Carriage has seen its business double. But the move has left a bad taste in the mouths of other Market Space businesses.
