During a large rainstorm, runoff from the proposed Crofton Wal-Mart could flood Route 3, environmentalists argued last night during a state hearing over whether to grant the wetlands permit needed to build the store.
"If a big-box store was here, it could come up and flood," Subijoy Dutta, an environmental engineer, testified during a hearing held by the Maryland Department of the Environment.
