Cadden out as Dwyer hangs on in recountPublished 12/13/06
Republican Del. Don Dwyer held onto his seat in District 31 yesterday, winning a recount by hand of 2,500 absentee and provisional ballots by just 25 votes. Wrapping up the state's closest race five weeks after the election, Del. Joan Cadden conceded after the recount in Glen Burnie. Mrs. Cadden, 65, picked up four votes, narrowing the 28-vote margin from Nov. 7. But Mr. Dwyer also gained one vote. "I'm absolutely glad I did it," Mrs. Cadden said after the seven-hour count was finished, confirming her loss. "I'm relived.
