Special primary elections off to slow start

Despite this morning's cool weather and a federal holiday, candidates in two Annapolis wards are keeping their fingers crossed that residents will remember to cast a ballot in today's special primary election.

White posters, some plastered to the back of election signs from former alderman Josh Cohen, were scattered throughout Ward 8, reminding residents to "Vote today."

Two Democrats and two Republicans are working to clear the first hurdle to becoming the next representative for Ward 8, which is home to Mayor Ellen O. Moyer and Mr. Cohen, who was elected to the County Council in November.
