Mid will get medal for helping shot agentPublished 01/17/07
A midshipman will receive the Navy Achievement Medal tomorrow for displaying heroism during the November shootings at Westfield Annapolis mall, the Naval Academy announced yesterday. Instead of running away from the gunfire, Midshipman 4th Class Roarke Baldwin, a 19-year-old freshman, ran toward the fray and rendered aid to a Secret Service agent who was on the floor after being shot in the thigh. A native of Florence, Mont., Midshipman Baldwin will receive the award at noon in Memorial Hall.
