BURTONSVILLE - A Montgomery County police officer and a suspect were both shot and wounded yesterday during an undercover drug operation, police said.
The officer was wounded in the shoulder during an exchange of gunfire around 2 p.m. with two suspects at a park-and-ride lot, Lt. Eric Burnett said. One of the suspects, a 16-year-old, was critically injured. The second suspect was taken into custody. The officer was airlifted to an area hospital, Lt. Burnett said.
