"The state of Maryland will not be putting in a bid for an Anne Arundel County horse park," said Jim Steele, chairman of the state Horse Industry Board.
Mr. Steele announced the decision today at a regularly scheduled board meeting.
Working in conjunction with the Horse Industry Board, the Maryland Stadium Authority had eyed the 857-acre property for a horse park complete with seating for 5,000, show rings, a cross country course and other equestrian staples. It would have cost around $114 million.
