Ed Casey Youth of the Year Award winner Christopher Coard, 17, accepts a tearful embrace from Reggie Broddie, chief professional officer for the Boys and Girls Club of Annapolis and Anne Arundel County and his mentor for the past several years. Although the 17-year-old managed to keep his cool throughout the Ed Casey Youth of the Year Awards Dinner last night, the moment his name was announced as the winner, he wavered. And he wasn't the only one. Reggie Broddie, chief professional officer of the Boys and Girls Club of Annapolis and Anne Arundel County and the man Christopher looked up to as a role model, could barely utter the announcement; members of the audience were already wiping the tears from their eyes.
