Firefighters make case for sprinklersPublished 03/20/07
Huddled together in the cold and rain on Duke of Gloucester Street last night, aldermen and other city officials watched as a room went up in flames in less than 40 seconds.
Sprinklers kicked on moments later and doused the flames. Luckily, it was just a demonstration in a specialized trailer.
The demo was the latest step in the sprinkler debate for the Historic District, this time focusing on homes.
