Both houses OK bills on selection of school boardPublished 03/27/07
A change in how the school board is selected in Anne Arundel County is another step closer to reality with bills now approved by both the Senate and the House. But, unlike the Senate version, the House bill approved last night would increase compensation for school board members by about 120 percent. The final step in the more than 20-year debate will be for a conference committee to reconcile differences between the two measures. The House bill passed by a vote of 136-2, with only Dels.
