It makes sense that Tinker Bell found a fan in Jill Marie Conklin. J.M. Barrie's fictional fairy was known for her erratic emotions. She was, however, also fiercely loyal: When Captain Hook tries to poison Peter Pan, she drinks the drug to save him. Saved by the faith of children, professed by their applause, her eventual end is one of obscurity.
Jill Conklin holds her newborn son, Tristan, who died March 22, 2006 at 10 months old. Ms. Conklin, who married at 16, struggled with heroin addiction for nearly 10 years. Her body was discovered near Patapsco Valley State Park in Linthicum on March 28.
"There are such a lot of them," Peter says of fairies. "I expect she is no more."
The same could be said about Ms. Conklin. The 23-year-old woman's body was found March 28 near Patapsco Valley State Park in Linthicum. She died of a cocaine overdose, though police are still sorting out...
