At St. Mary's Elementary School in Annapolis, an unattractive patch of wet grass has been transformed into a plant-filled wetland - an oasis of green on a campus dominated by asphalt.

At Davidsonville Elementary, there are environmental lessons tailored for each grade level.
At the Harbour School, students run their own recycling program. And at Bodkin Elementary in Pasadena, kids maintain a bog, a special kind of wetland. Those are just a few of the efforts at these environmentally focused schools - the latest local schools to earn "green school" status. "The goal is really to help kids in the state of Maryland...
