Think Maryland roads are congested? The Reason Foundation agrees with you.
The Los Angeles-based Libertarian think tank ranked Maryland as the fifth worst state in terms of urban traffic congestion in a study released last week. But the state's roads also emerged as among the safest in the country.
Using 2005 data from state highway agencies, the foundation found 68 percent of Maryland's urban interstate miles are congested, ranking 46th out of 50 states.
