ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) - Millions of dollars could be lost in tax revenues from large private office projects being constructed on military installations, and state and local governments want the Army to provide road and transit upgrade assistance.
When asked about the effect of a 15-building $700 million office development the Army is in talks to build at Fort Meade, Transportation Secretary John D. Porcari said Monday, "It's problematic for us, quite frankly." "There should be some equity," he said, adding that private office parks being developed outside Fort Meade's fence to serve other defense contractors pay taxes...
