The Maryland Hospital Association unveiled a new plan to alleviate the state's nursing shortage - a move that would cost millions of dollars and create hundreds of nursing faculty positions.
The organization worked with hospitals and colleges around the state to address the nursing vacancy rate, which was 13 percent for the past two years and is growing. Without any changes, officials said, the state will be short 10,000 nurses by 2016.
