Biodiesel now available

By J. Henson — The Capital Wyatt Hill, general manager of the Navy Exchange, explains the new biodisel pump at the exchange’s gas station. The Navy is selling B20 — a blend of 20 percent soy-based biodiesel and 80 percent regular diesel — to the general public.

For anyone looking to buy biodiesel, the Navy is selling.

The Navy Exchange gas station near Annapolis - just across the Severn River from the Naval Academy - is selling a biodiesel blend to Navy personnel as well as to the general public.

 

When the station was renovated this fall, the Navy was given the option of putting in biodiesel pumps. Wyatt Hill, general manager of the Navy Exchange, said it was an easy decision to make.

"It's the right thing to do. We should be leading the way," Mr. Hill said.

Offering biodiesel also helps local officials comply with a Navy directive to get more vehicles running on...
