In a few months, the county will have control of the former Naval Academy Dairy.
But people who live close to the 857-acre farm are concerned that could change as the county's budget grows tighter.
It will cost the county around $320,000 a year in rent and operational costs to maintain the land. However, the county's budget is always tight and fiscal crunches at the state level may mean that counties receive fewer state dollars.
