Severna Park senior collects soccer equipment for needy kidsPublished 01/09/08
Some people return home from vacation with souvenirs and postcards, but Sean Bunoski returned from a trip to Jamaica with an idea that spurred a huge campaign.

Sean Bunoski, a Severna Park High School varsity soccer player, spearheaded a campaign to collect a mound of used soccer gear that will be shipped to disadvantaged children in Baltimore and Jamaica. The effort was embraced by his coaches and teammates.
While Mr. Bunoski was visiting Jamaica with his family around Thanksgiving, they drove past a group of children playing soccer - with a can.
As a varsity soccer player for Severna Park High School, Mr. Bunoski had trouble getting this image out of his mind during the trip. "That just startled me," he said.
