For the third time in three years, a new group will take over the party plans for Annapolis' family friendly, alcohol-free New Year's Eve celebration.

Throngs of people took to the streets to catch The Clones of Funk performing on Main Street as part of this past year’s Annapolis Alive! New Year’s Eve celebration. The city is considering a plan to have a new group take over the annual party.
Following a floundering First Night, the city took over the annual year-end celebration to ring in 2008, but now a new organization, New Year's Annapolis, has asked the City Council if it can take the lead for the next five years.
