Report: Bay Bridge tolls may doublePublished 02/26/08
A state report says the toll to cross the Bay Bridge could double by 2013.
But transportation officials said today that those projections are inaccurate given how they are trying to curb costs.
"We do not at present have any plans on raising tolls," said John Porcari, the state secretary of the Department of Transportation. "We are working very hard on a cost-containment plan." The report from the state's nonpartisan Department of Legislative Services says increasing debt and operation and maintenance costs mean the Maryland Transportation Authority will have little else to fund its capital program...
