I'd imagine there was not much debate and the vote most likely took no more then 5 minutes. All types of issues from the community have the ability to make it to this point, and that is a good thing. I wonder if the politicians in office during the approval of the state flower and state sport received as much grief?

Gee, I sure hope that we won't need another special session since our legislators were soooo busy with this very important legislation! What a bunch of slackers!

Did anyone check the recipe for trans fat content? It might be banned in the next legislative session and could not be served in Baltimore now.

That?s quite the example our elected legislators are demonstrating. They must be so proud.

This IS rediculous. With gas prices going up, more taxes being charged, murders unsolved, etc., etc., etc., this makes the headlines. If the media didn't give credence to this kind of nonsense, maybe actual work could get done. H Martin - Pasadena

Vote takes the cake!!! - 2008-03-19 08:59:42
This is absolutely rediculous. Hey, looking on the bright side, at least one of our state politicians actually voted his conscience for a change because he likes apple pie so much better!! What a gag. With all the new taxes thrust onto the average MD resident, the only ones who will be able to afford this cake will be the politicians! Let them eat crow...I mean cake.
