A legal settlement between Baltimore Gas and Electric Co.'s parent company and Maryland could put $170 back in customers' pockets and clear the way for building a new nuclear reactor in the state.
The settlement, which requires legislative approval, ends the legal brinkmanship between state leaders and Constellation Energy over $386 million in credits awarded to ratepayers as part of a settlement reached in 2006.
Constellation alleges the credits, $38.6 million per year over a decade, were tied to a proposed merger with Florida Power and Light that eventually was scuttled. The two sides had filed lawsuits against each other...
