Gas line accident prompts evacuationPublished 05/05/08
A gas leak at the Annapolis Towne Centre at Parole forced the evacuation about 600 people this morning and prompted officials to close down several surrounding roads.
At 9:17 a.m. county firefighters received a call that a gas line - 3 to 4 inches in diameter - was struck during construction work at 1910 Annapolis Towne Centre Drive.
The gas line was nicked while crews were chopping-up the cement pad that had been used to stabilize the crane involved in a fatal accident last week, said Lt.
