Heavy rain drenched an already saturated county overnight and this morning, flooding roads and sweeping away vehicles.
TOP: A Mini Cooper sits crushed under a tree at a home at 1732 Vineyard Terrace in Epping Forest after a tree fell on it during the windstorm overnight. The winds and rains over the past couple of days closed roads and caused flooding problems throughout the region today. Strong winds also knocked out power to thousands, sparking several fires and prompting school officials to close several schools due to power outages. Nearly 5 inches of rain fell in Churchton throughout the night, according to the National Weather Service. The Naval Academy has been hit with 1.92 inches since yesterday afternoon.
