Storm system leaves damage across countyPublished 06/05/08
Lines of severe thunderstorms packing possible tornadoes tore through the county yesterday, damaging houses and vehicles and blocking several roadways. The worst of the damage was on the Broadneck Peninsula, especially in Severna Park and Arnold. Trees toppled, utility poles snapped and power lines were ripped down, knocking out electricity to many areas of the county. No serious injuries were reported. Crews from the National Weather Service will be out today and tomorrow, checking areas where residents say they saw tornadoes.
