Community president assaulted at beach ORCHARD BEACH - Three men attacked a community association president Sunday after he asked them to leave a beach in Orchard Beach for acting disorderly, county police said. Douglas Wade Ashton, 53, was on the beach near Main Street and Beach Promenade at about 9:20 p.m. when he saw a large group of people causing a disturbance. When Mr. Ashton, who is the community's association president, asked the group to leave, they became outraged, he told police. He told the group if they didn't leave, he would call the police.
