A neighbor grew worried about Charles A. Harrington Jr., 79, because the man had not emerged from his home at 706 Ferhnill Road for an extended period of time.
When crews entered the home, they found Mr. Harrington inside. It was 90-plus degrees inside the house, and the windows and doors were all closed, said Battalion Chief Matthew Tobia, a county Fire Department spokesman.
