Annapolis - The county Board of Education will elect new officers at its meeting Wednesday.
Tricia Johnson has been president for the past two years, and Enrique Melendez has been vice president for the past year.
Mrs. Johnson was just reappointed to the school board by Gov. Martin O'Malley along with new board member Teresa Milio Birge.
This will be the first school board meeting with nine members. In previous years the board had just eight. Ms. Birge fills the new, ninth seat on the board, representing District 32 - or Odenton and the surrounding area.
