Yesterday police charged Deonte Desmund Boyd, 24, of Baltimore, with first-degree murder in connection with the May 3 slaying of Michael Lee Thompson on Pleasant Street.
The murder of Mr. Thompson, 31, a husband and father of two who lived on Captain's Circle, was the most recent of the six homicides in Annapolis this year. He left behind a son, 4, and a daughter, 13.
"(The arrest) brings a lot of closure and a lot of peace," said LaTanya Dorsey, the mother of Mr. Thompson's wife, Ga'Juanah Holland-Thompson.
