Teen hacks Broadneck High networkPublished 08/22/08
An 18-year-old Broadneck High student hacked into his school's computer system earlier this year and stole the user names and passwords of his classmates. Jeremy Sayres of Arnold was convicted yesterday of illegally accessing the school's computers. He received probation before judgment and was ordered to stay out of trouble for five years. Circuit Court Judge Paul A. Hackner also ordered Mr. Sayres - who was initially expelled in March but was subsequently reinstated - to explain to county school officials and police exactly how he accessed the network so they can prevent it from happening again. The Capital Got the article headline all wrong because:
"....Mr. Sayres, however, said there are still security holes...."
Why didn't the reporter follow up on that?
