'Jogging Joe' Shafran diesPublished 09/12/08
Joe Shafran, the local fitness personality and columnist for The Capital known affectionately as "Jogging Joe," died last night of heart failure at Anne Arundel Medical Center, his family said. He was 81.

A friendly and inquisitive man who could almost instantly become a friend, Mr. Shafran collapsed during his morning run Saturday near the West Annapolis Volunteer Fire Company.
