ANNAPOLIS - Investigators have determined a fire that caused $500,000 in damages to the city public works building yesterday was caused by a malfunctioning light fixture.
Lt. John Bowes, city Fire Department spokesman, said the fire started just before 8 a.m. inside the building along Spa Road.
Two supervisors were inside the building at the time, but were able to escape. No one was hurt in the blaze, which took about 30 minutes to get under control.
