The Annapolis Police Department continues to push its recruiting efforts to get closer to filling the 131 officer positions in its budget. Using the Internet, putting ads in out-of-state newspapers and looking to hire already trained police officers are just some of the tactics Chief Michael A. Pristoop is using to put more officers on city streets. The department stands at 112 officers. But since Chief Pristoop took over in April, 10 more officers have been hired and the department is close to hiring five more.
