Slick roadways cause morning crashesPublished 01/08/09
An inch of rain yesterday combined with freezing temperatures made for slick roadways this morning, causing dozens of accidents including a crash involving a Maryland State Police trooper. Roads could be icy again this weekend, according to a meteorologist from the National Weather Service. At 5:30 a.m., the trooper, 34, was driving to work when his cruiser slid on a patch of black ice in the 8100 block of Hogneck Road and struck two utility poles, state police said.
