Discussion of 'Letter' launches MLK celebrationsPublished 01/11/09
Does change require some outward action, or does it come from within? How do you effect change in people who think they already are making concessions? Is order more important than justice? What is worth dying for? These and other questions were debated yesterday during a seminar at St. John's College on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s "Letter from a Birmingham Jail." The event was part of the college's celebration to honor the civil rights activist. His official holiday is Jan. 19. More than 100 people participated in groups of about 15.
