Band battle win 'a dream come true'Published 01/25/09
They're not the oldest band - or the best-known - but Brightview Avenue still had what it took last night to grab top honors at the county's 11th annual Battle of the Bands at Maryland Hall.

The county's best high school rock bands face off during Maryland Hall's 11th Battle of the Bands.
"We were not expecting this," said Chris Jackson, one of two guitarists for the Archbishop Spalding five-some. "We just formed Brightview Avenue a couple of months ago." The group, the core of which previously formed Another Hollow Victory, still proved to be one of the night's most polished acts, engaging almost a thousand cheering high school students and a panel of five judges with their poppy alternative...
