Girls to debut as trio

There was a chill in the air outside, but inside Gail Vehslage's Harwood home last week, spring had most definitely sprung.

Musically, that is.

Three student flutists were practicing Abelardo Albisi's "Canto di Primavera," which they said evokes images of budding flowers and babbling brooks. The public will get the chance to judge for themselves later this month when Faith Peeler, Jenna Rice and Bri Scholtz make their debut as the Traverso Trio.

The girls were among the winners of the 2008 Young Artist Competition by the Annapolis Chamber Players, and their performance is part of the group's...
