With the General Assembly heading into its final three weeks, the ticking legislative clock will get louder as local and statewide issues angle for closure. The last days of the 90-day session always bring a crush of movement that can kill even a worthwhile piece of legislation, and historic budget problems are likely to suck up a tremendous amount of energy. Studies show that married people are on average slightly happier, healthier, and wealthier than their single counterparts, and of course this is true for gay people as well. Therefore, one can rightly conclude that gay marriage is good for America.
