City settles police brutality lawsuitPublished 04/14/09
The city has settled a police-brutality lawsuit, but officials will not say how much they paid the two men who claimed they were wrongfully arrested and beaten by officers. Attorneys representing the alleged victims - Jose Louis Meneses-Araiza and Quinton T. Smith - declined to comment on the March 24 settlement, citing a confidentiality agreement. In the lawsuit, filed March 3, 2008, Meneses-Araiza, 28, and Smith, 33, both of Annapolis, claimed Officer Gary Black - now a deputy with the Caroline County Sheriff's Department - arrested and beat them without cause during separate incidents March 30, 2005, on Market Street...

If The Annapolis police settled one can safely assume there were problems with their case. At last the good guys win one, and the police lost !!!!!
