1917 yacht donated to West/Rhode RiverkeeperPublished 04/26/09
Arguably the most noticeable boat tooling around West River waters - a 1917, 52-foot-long "commuter" yacht called Blue Mist - has been donated to the West/Rhode Riverkeeper.

West/Rhode Riverkeeper Chris Trumbauer stands at the rail of Blue Mist.This sleek 1917 Consolidated Commuter craft, Blue Mist, fully restored years ago by Hartge Yacht Yard in Galesville, has been donated to the West/Rhode Riverkeeper.
The conservation group won't use it to make daily rounds in and around the West and Rhode. But the craft likely will provide quite a bit of visibility for the organization and make a great platform to get a small crowd in closer contact with the resource the riverkeeper seeks to protect.
