In the past, why someone was selling their house wasn't something that was readily disclosed. As a listing agent, you were not to reveal a seller's reason for moving without their explicit permission. After all, the seller's motivation can be valuable information for a buyer. If you know that the seller needs to get his place sold in a month, the offering price is likely to be lower than if it's a seller who doesn't really need to move.
