Severna Park coalition takes on teen suicidePublished 05/26/09
Under the bright lights of Severna Park High School's stadium, a camera panned across a staged football game, coming to rest on a set of cheerleader's pompoms lying on the ground. Their owner was missing.
Courtesy of Michelle Studnicky Students from area schools act in a scene shot at the Severn School for a public service announcement aimed at preventing teen suicide. Parents, school counselors and community groups in Severna Park have come together to work on the project as the Guiding Coalition for the Prevention of Teen Suicide. The clip is one of several that will appear in a two-minute public-service announcement created by a group of Severna Park residents to draw awareness to the county's - and the nation's - increasing problem with teen suicide.
